Beach 03:19
i'm chasing after fate. been chasing it like a ghost. revisiting mistakes. and when i'm circling the drain. you pull me back in the ring. i was five year old when my blood first boiled. screaming and crying, i was lying through my teeth. spiteful - i never got enough. i'm still searching for what sets me off. if i could let you go - forgive my self and everyone around me. but i'm still angry and i don't know why. when i start to listen it's a song from long ago. in a forgotten language. a picture without edges. that got me scared to my senses. if i could let you go - forgive this place where nothing grows. where my heart turned cold and simply logical. if i could let you go - forgive the child that plucked my wings. and the god that gave you cancer. if there only was an answer. if i could make sense of all my anger. so when i fall apart maybe i could come together. that's why i'm burning all my bridges. hope you choke on the ashes

i fear i’m getting isolated. it might be unintentional. but every time i see them. i can hear whispers behind my back. a dot outside the inner circle. suddenly not notified. like ink erased from its own paper. please, my friends just take me back. clueless - i don’t know where i went wrong. helpless - i’ll turn back just let me know. deafened - the choir i can’t hear its song. ruined - left to rest here on my own. i fear i changed my presentation. something just won’t satisfy. 'cause every time i see you. i can hear whispers behind my back. a tone lost in the sweetest birdsong. a symphony disharmonized. a lion pushed out of the pack. i'm suddenly not notified. a moon drifting outside its orbit. excluded by some gravity. the rose lens on our telescope is gone. my friends, please take me back. clueless - i don’t know where i went wrong. helpless - i’ll turn back just let me know. deafened - our choir i can’t hear its song. ruined - left to rest on my own. the choir, i can't hear its song. clueless - helpless - deafened - ruined

MICELORD 01:46
the language it speaks. ears to the ground. the secret it keeps. follow the sound. you crawl up the stairs. a slave to the beat. and what you'll find there is that you are no one at all. it comes between what you are and where you want to be. the bitter melody. the rhythm you feel. it came through the wall. body and soul. swallowed you whole. you travelled the earth with no purpose. the language it speaks. ears to the ground. the secret it keeps. follow the sound. the bitter melody

walking home, this awkward road. tangled close, can't let you go. could it be an accident. it could be like you said. it's on repeat, it's everywhere. through the park and up the stairs. like a stone on my mind. it's everywhere it's everywhere. it's on repeat, it's everywhere. through the park and up the stairs. through the night like a mare. it's everywhere it's everywhere. we echo through quiet streets. no battery - just you and me. we could be an accident. or you could lie to yourself. it's on repeat, it's everywhere. through the park and up the stairs. like a stone on my mind. it's everywhere it's everywhere. it's on repeat, it's everywhere. through the park and up the stairs. through the night like a mare. it's everywhere it's everywhere. rooftop nerves like smoke in my lungs. can you repair a broken promise? bottles braking down below us. hearts are racing, you're so toxic. it's on repeat what you said. it doesn't make any sense. through the day like a thread. it's on repeat but you aren't there. through the day like a thread. it's everywhere it's everywhere

Wheel 01:24
the wheel goes round and round. we're are so high over the ground. my heart is thumping. it just pounds and pounds and pounds. your voice is music to my ears. wish it could stay this way. for years and years and years. but the wheel goes round and round. i don't ever wanna come down. but what comes up sometime must come down. that's the way it is. i'm not ready for the ground to hit

Paperking 02:34
my bones tell me. i'm old. "keep feeling". i'm rusted. wake up and still. i'm dishonest. i'm not what you think. i can't be trusted. in my dreams. all disarray. i'm a better man. still led astray. could someone please. looking for. lend me a hand. a light in the dark. it feels like i am drowning now. could someone please just help me out. i'm wading through the razor vines. could someone please just help me out. i'm old. is this the end of our path. i'm jaded. thought it would last. i'm a book. spineless. my words have faded. in my dreams. back to the source. i'm a better man. changing the course. when morning brakes. face it. i'm the paper king. it's inside my bones. it feels like i am drowning now. could someone please just help me out. i'm wading through the razor vines. feels like i'm about to die. tears are filling up my eyes. see my hand i'm reaching out. i'm wading through the razor vines. i'm the paper king it's sundown. i'm wading though razor vines. i feel myself slowly drown. could someone please just help me out. i'm sinking like a stone

POUR 3x 02:37
i told them they were wearing me down. they didn't know what i was talking about. when i told them all my words they just fell to the floor. you're the ocean i'm the faucet i just pour and pour and pour. pouring words onto paper. the beauty could not have come from you. i never mattered to myself. whatever. let's live our lives in parallel. i told them they were wearing me down. they didn't know what i was talking about. when i told them all my words they just fell to the floor. you're the ocean i'm the faucet i just pour and pour and pour. now i'm afraid to talk about it. to bring it up again. so we keep fighting over nothing. or everything. no one knows that you're gone. but you know that you are. i hope our roads won't cross again. that love will find us in the end. that love could save me from myself. it won't. i told them they were wearing me down. they didn't know what i was talking about. when i told them all my words they just fell to the floor. you're the ocean i'm the faucet i just pour and pour and pour. no one knows that you're gone. but you know that you are

so you dream of days. when morning brakes. and sunlight paints you both. but the picture could not be prettier. as she danced - up there - alone. you're in a crowded room. you spill out onto the roof and the moonlight fills you up. and she says: "what makes you feel like a clown... i've got the same thing. i've got the same thing." but you're a wolf without a smile. you're a friend without a song. you're bad news all over. like a bad year that's hanging over me. i'll waste my time on you. i'll waste my time on you. so you dream of days. when morning brakes. and sunlight paints you both

Paralyzed 01:46
there is no one left to blame. now that everything's up to fate. and i'm paralyzed. can't help you now. your image comes back to me. where you're body's hooked up to a machine. i know we were only here for a while. i just wished you were staying around. but i'm paralyzed. can't help your now

Coma Kid 03:08
surrender to the sound we're beautiful. our roots are strong and they wanna see us fall. we do what's right, we're not alone. their force is strong but together we stand tall. in the streets the city sings. a sound so loud you just cant shut it out. you and me and everyone. an undying bond. imagine the freedom it's love. the aimless. the voiceless. wake up to the sound. our roots are strong and they wanna see us fall. we do what's right. we're not alone. our roots are strong and together we stand tall. the hopeless. the ruined. there is no one to blame but yourself. you are responsible. now your roots have been unearthed. you have been detached. and life is rolling by on a movie screen. the moment you seek the release, the awakening from this dream. it can't be done on your own. you are paralyzed. you are dying but not living. but your veins they're connected. and blood runs through whether you try or don't. the paper king in his castle. the friend on a rooftop. are you the seed? could you brake through the pavement? wake up the aimless. wake up the voiceless. we're beautiful and in the streets. a sound so loud you just can't shut it out. imagine the freedom. its love

Collapse 04:33
we come together when worlds collapse. you tend to see it clearly when no one else does. a dandelion bond. fragile and thin. brakes through the pavement. when nothing else will. collapse. so used to the fighting. we're all enemies. go for their throat with copper nail. we're all dying to feel good. and its too bad you couldn't trust your daughters. when worlds collapse. collapse. brake through the surface. our roots grow stronger. brake through the surface. our roots grow stronger. brake through the surface. our future is open wide

about

All Platforms: orcd.co/wlots-paperking

An isolated pandemic recording session in a small wooded cabin has unleashed "Paperking", the glorious, guitar-drenched album by Swedish-based post-hardcore / screamo / skramz outfit WLOTS. Against a backdrop of snarling pain, awareness and gut-wrenching emotion, "Paperking" offers a unique take on this genre's roots with a sound that harkens back to the early 2000’s while retaining a firm foothold in the band's dark and dreamy modern world. Delivering on the promise shown on their debut "Sempre Piu" with a fresh collection of 13 killer tracks crafted with sincerity, unflinching fury and stellar production, this incredible follow-up is a must-listen for anyone who welcomes genuine, legitimate, true emotion.

"The album is a collection of sad musings about life lived in contempt of others, authoritative figures in particular, and trying to let go of that anger. 'Paperking' is written from the perspective of the oppressor...someone whose claim to power is without warrant and unable to withstand challenge. We want the listener to despise this person as much as we do but at the same time recognize their humanity," says bassist Alexander Reinthal.

"Paperking" was recorded by WLOTS in Granna, mixed by Taylor Barrow and mastered by Ulf Blomberg at HoboRec in Lund. Taylor also provided additional keys and programming. Album artwork by Tom Malek.
