sometimes it seems cold and far away. sometimes close and warm. and I think I always look for the opposite. sometimes I only see its light. sometimes it's just a fade to black. sometimes I feel like I'm strong. and there is no fear. sometimes the storm washes me away. like sand on the shore. today I just float aimlessly. today I don't feel like a slave to gravity. i float aimlessly. i'm not a slave to gravity. i have a lot of dreams to pack. i'll go faster if I don't look back. the universe never judges me. i must escape now to be free. i must escape from love, space and time. to be free. i must escape from love, space and time

about

All Platforms: orcd.co/fis-liftoff

Piercing the psyche in a way reserved only for the upper echelons of instrumental post-rock, FLOATING IN SPACE sweeps across every conceivable emotion with cinematic showmanship. Structuring each track on "Liftoff" with enough organic melody, optimistic grace and beautiful instrumentation to give wings to every butterfly in your stomach, each song is a hypnotic soundscape worthy of the act's name. In 2016, Deep Elm first showcased the potential of what Spanish multi-instrumentalist / songsmith Ruben Caballero was capable of. Four albums later, the aptly-titled "Liftoff" is the ultimate realization of that potential.

"I envisioned Liftoff as a journey with many stops; a path through emotions, feelings, reflections, fears and dreams. Some of the songs that this new album contains are born more from loneliness, loss, pain or sadness, in contrast to others with a clearly more positive and luminous inspiration. Through this journey I wanted to represent the learning that every experience gives you, be it positive or negative. As such, even in the darkest songs, a halo of light and hope will always be present, like the fuel that allows us to continue discovering and exploring. Liftoff reminds us that on our journey we may see and feel the darkness but we will not get caught up in it," says Ruben Caballero of Floating In Space.

"Truly uplifting, enlightened songwriting. From the opening note to the last, your heart will be fit to burst..." - Will Not Fade

"Pulling you in and taking your heart to the heavens, FIS has perfected the genre of cinematic post-rock..." - Oklahoma Lefty
